Nikken Global, Inc. Review

Nikken Global Business, Products & Recommendation

Nikken Global, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese company Nihon Kenko Zoushin Kenkyukai founded in 1975. Nikken Global’s company headquarters is in Irvine, California. It is privately held, and sales figures are not disclosed.

The company operates in over 20 nations and has an estimated 30K independent distributors in the United States.

Nikken products were first offered in the United States in 1989.

Nikken MLM Products

Nikken’s product line is focused on supporting the 5 “pillars of health,” which are Healthy Mind, Body, Family, Society, and Finances (the latter 2 most likely referring to the opportunity to become a Nikken distributor, see below). They sell a wide range of products in 3 categories: performance and rejuvenation, including a large selection of magnetic products; environmental solutions, including air and water purification systems; and lifestyle solutions, including health and wellness products.

Nikken Opportunity and Compensation

Nikken posts little to no information about becoming a consultant or their compensation plan on their website. However, some information has been gleaned from former Nikken consultants, as follows.

The initial investment to become a Nikken consultant is $49.95 for the Nikken sales kit; however, it is recommended that consultants also purchase a demo kit that sells for approximately $400 as well as other items.

A Nikken consultant receives a 20% discount on product purchases and can earn up to 25% profit on the sale of Nikken products to others. There is also the opportunity to receive residual income through recruiting other distributors.

The type of compensation plan offered is a “breakaway” compensation plan. Once you reach a certain level, you breakaway from your original sponsor, and he or she then receives very little commission from your organization’s sales. On the other side, you also can continually have your distributors breakaway from you, too – thus necessitating a never ending need to recruit new distributors just to maintain current residuals.

Our Recommendations

First, Nikken’s products in the health and wellness industry are competing in a crowded marketplace. Numerous options are available to consumers interested in Nikken’s type of products. Several complaints allege that Nikken’s price point is too high as well, which makes it even harder to compete.

Another major concern is the fact that Nikken does not support its consultants well with online marketing. In fact, there are restrictions on what consultants can do on the Internet. For example, they cannot submit their websites (should they choose to build one on their own) to the search engines. This in effect forces Nikken consultants into relying heavily on offline methods, which haven’t proved as consistently effective in the multi-level marketing industry.

Finally, it was estimated by one source that you would need 100 to 200 consultants to earn $1K a month – not enough to quit your day job. Finally, with a breakaway plan, it would be challenging to say the least to build a productive organization. Your most productive reps would be continually breaking away from you.

The verdict? Buyer beware. Use the products if you like, but also use caution before you sign up for a distributorship.
