Organo Gold Business Overview

Organo Gold was founded in 2008 by Bernardo Chua, a network marketing pro with 5 awards for “Direct Sales Company of the Year” awards for the Pacific Rim and Asia.

Chua is taking that experience to the United States to sell this country’s most popular beverage, coffee – but with a twist. In this case, the “twist” is ganoderma, also known as reishi – a supplement known for its healing properties throughout both the East and West.

At the same time, current research is showing that coffee itself has health benefits including possibly preventing cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and Type II Diabetes.

In other words, in Organo Gold, Chua is combining a beverage consumed by 150 million Americans every day with one of our country’s favorite obsessions – health and fitness.

Given that Organo Gold is so new, there aren’t any figures available for the average earnings of its distributors, called representatives. And there are no figures for how many people have signed up with Organo Gold to date; however, all it takes is a quick google to find several representatives’ websites.

Organo Gold calls itself a worldwide country, but the countries in which the company does business aren’t readily available on its website.

In fact, the company shows several signs of what could be some pretty big growing pains. Organo Gold does not explain its compensation plan well, with some terms left undefined on the site dedicated to that information. There is no hard information easily available about the company’s website policies. And maybe more telling, Organo Gold has supposedly developed a soap product – but while that product is listed on the order page linked to by one Organo Gold representative, that product isn’t available on the main company’s order page as of the time of this review.

Organo Gold Products

Organo Gold sells coffee that’s blended with ganoderma/reishi to get the health benefits, and the marketing power, of coffee combined with a well-known health supplement. In addition to the coffees, though, the company offers hot chocolate, green tea, and neutraceutical products based on ganoderma and a grape seed extract supplement.

One thing that might put people off from Organo Gold is the expense. The retail cost of 30 servings of the company’s main coffee product, Organo Gold Gourmet Black, is $27. That’s the minimum retail cost – representatives are required to sell products for an “at least” 50% markup, but the company does not limit representatives to that amount.

Getting involved with Organo Gold as a representative could have some fairly high costs as well, with a basic starter pack running only $49 but the next level up, the one that brings you a good sample inventory, costing $199.

The Opportunity and Compensation

Organo Gold’s compensation plan seems to be potentially lucrative, with a 50% retail commission and bonuses for recruiting new representatives. The company offers a two-leg plan, bonuses for purchases made by new representatives and commissions on the sales of the downline you’ve recruited.

However, the compensation plan seems to lean heavily on getting the people in your downline to purchase products wholesale. That could lead to tension between downline recruiters and the people whom they are supposed to be supervising.

This potential problem is heavily balanced by the fact that Organo Gold encourages its representatives to sell the products out of their existing retail venues including gyms and spas and the offices of healthcare providers. An existing business with a good clientele may well profit very nicely by adding Organo Gold to its products and services.

In addition to person-to-person retail sales, Organo Gold does offer its representatives their own company websites and does pay the same commission on Internet sales. One potential caution, though, is that the representatives’ websites searched by this reviewer seemed overly similar to one another in content and presentation.

While Organo Gold’s website policies and procedures are not easily available, it’s possible that the company is among those that has the kind of restrictive policies that make truly successful Internet marketing difficult if not impossible.

MLM Files Recommendations

It’s always exciting to see a new network marketing company come along, particularly one based on such an exciting product. For one thing, the best way to become a top earner in any network marketing company is to get in on the ground floor of that company.

And for another – coffee?! And health food supplements?! This is truly a match made in network marketing heaven.

On the other hand – and there is always another hand – Organo Gold is a very pricey product, and that could limit its market appeal to upscale customers and potential representatives. Of course, that’s not a particular drawback to people who already have connections in this market. And as already noted, anyone who already has a business which caters to this market could well strike real gold with Organo Gold.

But individual marketers without such built-in access to this market niche may well want to look into a less expensive network marketing opportunity. Also keep in mind that Organo Gold is a fairly new kid on the network marketing block. This can be exciting and offer a huge opportunity – but you’ll want to be wary if you have a hard time adapting to situations where the company doesn’t seem yet to have all its ducks marching together.

The bottom line here is that no network marketing company is for everyone, and Organo Gold is no exception to the rule. Be very careful to learn the company’s exact Web policies and procedures to find out if you’ll be able to succeed with Organo Gold as an online marketer if that’s your preferred business model, and do the planning to be sure you can move retail product if you’re not.

But if you already have an established, upscale clientele at an existing business, particularly one that’s related to health – definitely check into Organo Gold.
