Is Wealth Masters International (WMI) for the wealthy? Good question, and the answer is that it certainly doesn’t hurt, and in fact probably helps. Which also of course means that it doesn’t exclude those without considerable wealth – they just might need to work a little harder.

Here’s why.

First and foremost, the WMI program isn’t for the faint of heart, at least in terms of the price points and financial commitment required. The entry-level program—the mPOWER—is affordable enough at just under $500. As an industry comparison, this puts even the lowest-price WMI product at the high end of most MLM offerings. And that’s just the beginning.

Since the WMI products are all related, the entrepreneur buys them in sequence. The next product in the line is the m1, an information product comprised of DVDs and workbooks that sells for around $2,000. That’s serious money, and it doesn’t stop there. The m2 Wealth Conference sells for around $10,000, and the m3 Wealth Retreat is a whopping $20,000.

If that sounds like a lot of money, well, it is. But for WMI something is working, because the company has grown from a cold start to almost $1 billion in just over 5 years. That kind of exponential growth isn’t a fluke. The products clearly have value.

The value stems from the fact that the WMI mPOWER, m1, m2, and m3 are all financial information products that help people to create and preserve wealth. In good economic times, these products could provide solid benefits. But during a severe economic downturn—like the Great Recession—they are downright indispensible.

The reality is that most people don’t know very much about managing their money. They’ve learned how to do it from people who don’t know all that much about it themselves, like family, friends, and co-workers. Sound financial management is a weak spot in the lives of many.

The WMI program fills that need. The lower price point products start with the basics. They teach a person how to get their financial house in order by making a simple 1% improvement a day for 100 days. Just about anyone could benefit from this approach.

The more expensive products are really targeted at people with money to manage—and worry about. Both the m2 and m3 conferences assume that attendees can not only learn cutting-edge financial strategies, but that they can implement them immediately with their own portfolios. Learning what to do with your first $15,000 is really only meaningful if you have $15,000. Truly benefiting from million-dollar investment strategies requires millions of dollars to invest.

So for anyone considering the WMI opportunity, it really all comes down to your business model and your personal network. It’s often said that your net worth is a function of your network. With WMI, this statement really rings true.

For example, if you regularly associate with high-net-worth individuals, signing on with WMI is a no-brainer. For anyone with money who doesn’t see a $30,000 price tag as an insurmountable barrier to entry, the initial investment will likely pay for itself—several times over—in the first year. The company’s cutting edge investment strategies work—that’s a proven fact. Simply talking about it on the golf course with 3 well-heeled friends would likely result in 3 easy sales.

On the other hand, if your circle of friends is caught up in the 9-to-5 rat race and paying bills every month is a stressful undertaking, WMI might be a stretch. Forking over 30 grand to learn about managing money when you can barely buy groceries doesn’t really make sense.

That’s not to say that it can’t be done—it’s just a much more challenging undertaking. Most of the successful WMI entrepreneurs who started out lacking financial abundance and without a Rolodex filled with rich friends relied on the Internet, rather than their own networks, to find customers. It’s also interesting to note that most of those folks are now multi-millionaires. It can be done.

The bottom line is that the risk that a prospective entrepreneur faces with the WMI opportunity is inversely proportional to personal net worth and the financial strength of friends and associates. The program is solid. As with anything else in life, your success—or failure—is entirely up to you.
